Vikings

N51 36.07 W55 32.24 L’Anse aux Meadows. 85K & poised to round the Northern peninsula. 13hrs on water. Dim fog until crossed Pistolet Bay then turned sunny. Windy with a lumpy sea. Beautiful crossing of Sacred Bay with setting sun painting the world crimson. Will relax as tourist tomorrow & explore Viking site. I have wanted to visit here since grade school.

  1. Neil Burgess Said,

Greg, hope you like the L’anse aux Meadows Norse site. An amazing place … you can almost feel the Viking ghosts around you as you walk through the reconstructed sod huts. Hard to imagine heading out across the North Atlantic in those open boats. We’ll raise a pint here to your very successful first month on the water. You’re halfway around Newfoundland now! Enjoy the second half and keep safe. Neil

  2. Michael Bradley Said,

Good idea Greg! Being a tourist in Newfoundland can be very rewarding, especially after a long paddle! Enjoy the bergy coasts ahead.

  3. Gitte Jul Jensen Said,

    Hello Greg.

Greetings from Copenhagen. Lucky you. Nice to follow your trip. Hope to see you soon.
